Sweet Baby Lucas | Newborn Portraits | Las Vegas

Welcome to the world sweet wittle guy.

Lucas was born on January 21, 2010 and that was 8 weeks early. For those of you not-so-quick at math, he is 7 weeks old today, but really wouldn’t have been born for another week if he had gone his full time in mama’s womb. The miracle of life is incredible. He weighed only 3 lbs 9 oz at birth and had to stay in the NICU for 4 weeks. Amazingly, today he is a strong, healthy, beautiful baby, weighing 7 lbs 13 oz.

Jarad and Jeannine, he is absolutely precious. I think about the complications you had and the roller coaster ride that you must have gone through and it brings tears to my eyes to know how strong and healthy and perfect he is. I know you are grateful every day. <3

Enjoy your sneak peek.

Jessica Scarpati | Senior Portraits | Las Vegas

Jessica is a senior at Shadow Ridge.  Jessica and her mom wanted something different than your typical senior portraits, so they called me. : ) Jessica is SUPER busy with her soccer team with practice every week day and tournaments just about every weekend so we had to get her session in even though our scheduled day turned out to be a rainy, windy day! Jessica is quite possibly one of the most photogenic seniors I have ever shot. She was SO incredibly easy to work with. I would ask her to do something and BOOM she struck the pose just right.

Jessica and Janice, thanks for choosing me for your senior photos. : ) I hope you LOVE them.

Here is your sneak peek!

Maternity Beauty {Waiting for Ava}

Doesn’t she look like she’s right out of the ‘A Pea in the Pod’ catalog?!!  Seriously.

Years ago, when Desiree married her high school sweetheart, Craig, she told her mom that she wanted to have a baby before she turned 30.   Well guess what: Desiree turns 30 on March 21. She couldn’t be cutting it any closer! The Dr. says that baby Ava could come any day. I am so excited to go back in a couple weeks to meet her. : )

Dez and Craig- I can’t wait for you to be parents. I can’t think of ANYONE I know who would make a better set of parents than the two of you. I am so excited to watch your family grow.

March 1, 2010 - 10:21 pm Dana's dad - I have never seen a "pea in a pod" model, but I am pretty sure Des is cuter than any of them. Craig you look great too. (I guess I shouldn't be so surprised) Nice shoot Dana. You make your daddy proud.

March 1, 2010 - 10:29 pm Judy Thompson - Well Dana, I guess you did the best you could with what you had to work with!!!Lol! These are just beautiful, as I knew they would be.I don't know how you could have doubted yourself.

March 1, 2010 - 10:38 pm Kelly Sunbury - Is there ever such a thing called a "bad picture" taken by you? Sure doesn't seem like it! These are beautiful :) XO!!!!

Devon Halvorson {Palo Verde Class of 2010}

Devon and I finally found a day that we both had availability to get his senior photos done. Between all the commitments/activities he has and my busy schedule, I was afraid it may NEVER happen.

When we set out to take his photos, neither one of us had a very clear idea of location. I was telling him how nice it was to be photographing my own child… not only was it going to be fun for me, because he is someone I know and love dearly, but that there was less pressure on me to get good shots, knowing that I would be able to re-shoot if something went wrong. I was all nice and relaxed and confident. UNTIL we started. It was so strange, but for some reason I got COMPLETELY insecure. I would think of an idea and then think, no, he will think that’s dumb. Then I’d think of another, and second-guess it. If you guys know Devon, you know he would never make me feel dumb about an idea. I’m not sure why but I felt this growing importance to make his pictures be absolutely AMAZING, because after all, he’s so important to me and I want to have these forever, and he’s such a great kid and I can’t think of anything creative, and where should we shoot and the sun is going down and does he think this is dumb and will he like this location and how come I can’t make him smile and…..? AGGGGHHHH!..

Well we made it through. And I think we got some pretty nice shots. :) He’s happy and I’m happy. And Devon- you are an incredible son and I am so proud of you.

Anna Frerker {Cimarron Memorial Class of 2010}

Anna and I went out yesterday for her Senior Photos.

It’s funny, when I have a senior session, I get so excited. I think about it for the few days before… visualizing some of the shots I want to take. I wonder what my client is going to wear….  wonder about how they will be in front of the lens, and so forth. I know that my clients get excited about their sessions, too, but they couldn’t possibly look forward to it as much as I do. ; )

I really enjoyed Anna’s company.  She’s really down to earth. If I believed in reincarnation I would be ABSOLUTELY sure that Anna was an old soul.   She is so much more mature than I was when I was her age. What a beautiful girl, too.

Anna, thanks for being there with me while the Park Ranger gave me a ticket (he really did!). You were AWESOME to work with. Here is your sneak peek!

Mack Apitz {Palo Verde Class of 2010}

To know Mack is to love Mack. From the minute I picked him up he seemed so relaxed. Usually, especially with the senior guys, they start out a bit uncomfortable in front of the camera… and in conversations. Nope, not Mack. He says he doesn’t really like having his picture taken, but you’d never know it. By the time we were done with the day we were goofing around and laughing like old friends.

Mack loves the outdoors. He likes to bike and rock climb. We chose the setting based on his hobbies and I think his photos turned out great!

Mack- Here is your sneak peek. I will have the rest of your gallery ready for viewing soon.

Stella Maris Cassidy sweet {newborn} love

Wow. Babies are so amazing. They are even more amazing when they are a part of YOUR family. This is Stella. She is my brand new baby cousin and she’s perfect. She was just two weeks old when we did her session. Stella was the TINYEST little thing. They tell me she weighed 7 lbs 5 oz at birth, but I think they are lying. ; ) Stella makes the sweetest sounds. When she’s awake, she softly coos continuously. It is absolutely precious. And her movements… she is so graceful and gentle.

Jen and Travis, baby’s mama and daddy, live in Sacramento and I was able to head up there to get a session in before her newborn-ness becomes a thing of the past. It was a lot of fun to see them be new parents. They both ADORE her. You will too-
