Amanda – Chaparral High Class of 2011 | Las Vegas Senior Portrait Photographer | Urban Vision Studios

Amanda is a senior at Chaparral High School this year.

We set out to the South of France to do her senior session yesterday (just kidding, but it looks like it in those first few photos!). We had a few difficulties along the way, but we were able to get some gorgeous shots. She is such a pretty girl with beautiful green eyes and porcelain skin.

Thanks, Amanda for being patient through bad traffic and all the other craziness! : ) You are a sweetheart!

Jillian Palo Verde Class of 2011 | Las Vegas Senior Portraits | Urban Vision Studios

I had the sheer pleasure of shooting Jillian’s senior photos yesterday. She is an ultra-sweetheart AND she’s gorgeous!! We had quite a bit of wind to contend with, but we were blessed with some b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l light.

My daughter has been friends with Jillian since the 3rd grade. Jillian had an incredible knack for fashion even back then at 11 years old. Truth be told, the running joke (or fact– I’m still not sure) among her peers was that during each school year, Jillian NEVER wore the same outfit twice. ; ) How’s that for a challenge?!

Well her fashion sense didn’t disappoint for her senior photos. She did a beautiful job and we got some great shots. Here are a few… have a look. : )

this first shot is my FAV!!

Shelby – Palo Verde Class of 2011 | Las Vegas Senior Portraits | Urban Vision Studios

Shelby is a senior this year at Palo Verde High School. We’ve had the pleasure of knowing and loving Shelby since she was just a lil’ freshman. It’s hard to believe she will graduate this year.

I found this photo location and was excited to use it, but it had to be for the right person… When Shelby and I booked her session, I knew she was the one. She got excited when I was explaining it and I knew it would be perfect for her. For some reason, I knew that all the texture and grunge at this place would bring really bring out her amazing eyes.

Here ya go Sheeb. Here are a few favs. <3blog 1Shelby Pate (17 of 227)blog 3blog 4blog 5Shelby Pate (85 of 227)Shelby Pate (101 of 227)Shelby Pate (120 of 227)Shelby Pate (151 of 227)Shelby Pate (189 of 227)Shelby Pate (200 of 227)

Kati – Palo Verde Class of 2011 | Las Vegas Senior Portraits | Urban Vision Studios

Kati-Kati-Kati. :) I love Kati.

Kati and I ventured up to mt. charleston for her senior session. It was beautiful…. she was fun… what more could I ask for? We had a great time and got some beautiful shots. The light was great that night and I think we did a good job of capturing all the different sides of Kati’s personality.  What a BEAUTIFUL girl.

Here’s a sneak peek!

Cody Miller | Class of 2010 | Las Vegas Senior Portraits

Cody is a senior, graduating this spring from Palo Verde High School. That is cool… but there are a lot more GREAT things going on in this kid’s life.

It’s not all that common for EXTREME TALENT and UNWAVERING DRIVE and COMMITMENT to collide in one person. Some people have amazing talent, but lack the inspiration to work hard. Others have strong desire and work diligently to achieve goals, but there isn’t enough natural ability to be among the champions.  However, when the whole package is there- incredible things happen.

Cody Miller is in the midst of an incredible swimming career. He has a wall of dozens upon dozens of swimming medals. He is currently a member of the USA Swimming National Youth Travel Team for the 2009-2010 season, competing internationally. He has already gotten experience with the Olympic Qualifiers, in which he qualified to participate in 2008.

Between his on-shore training and his time in the water, Cody averages 25-30 hours a week training. It’s a lot, but for him, it has paid off: His best events are the 100 and 200 breast stroke. He is the current Junior National Long Course Champion in both the 100m and the 200m and he even holds the record in the 15-16 age group 100 Yd Breaststroke and 200 Yd Breaststroke (Dec 2008), he broke Olympian Brendon Hanson’s 10 year records. WOW.

Cody will be attending University of Indiana (Hoosiers) in the Fall on a 5 year full ride scholarship.

Aside from being a stellar, standout athlete, Cody is a down to earth, fun, polite and all around great kid- (sorry ladies, there’s not time for a girlfriend right now). I really enjoyed my time with him in front of my lens and I am excited to watch his future unfold!

Devon Halvorson {Palo Verde Class of 2010}

Devon and I finally found a day that we both had availability to get his senior photos done. Between all the commitments/activities he has and my busy schedule, I was afraid it may NEVER happen.

When we set out to take his photos, neither one of us had a very clear idea of location. I was telling him how nice it was to be photographing my own child… not only was it going to be fun for me, because he is someone I know and love dearly, but that there was less pressure on me to get good shots, knowing that I would be able to re-shoot if something went wrong. I was all nice and relaxed and confident. UNTIL we started. It was so strange, but for some reason I got COMPLETELY insecure. I would think of an idea and then think, no, he will think that’s dumb. Then I’d think of another, and second-guess it. If you guys know Devon, you know he would never make me feel dumb about an idea. I’m not sure why but I felt this growing importance to make his pictures be absolutely AMAZING, because after all, he’s so important to me and I want to have these forever, and he’s such a great kid and I can’t think of anything creative, and where should we shoot and the sun is going down and does he think this is dumb and will he like this location and how come I can’t make him smile and…..? AGGGGHHHH!..

Well we made it through. And I think we got some pretty nice shots. :) He’s happy and I’m happy. And Devon- you are an incredible son and I am so proud of you.

Mack Apitz {Palo Verde Class of 2010}

To know Mack is to love Mack. From the minute I picked him up he seemed so relaxed. Usually, especially with the senior guys, they start out a bit uncomfortable in front of the camera… and in conversations. Nope, not Mack. He says he doesn’t really like having his picture taken, but you’d never know it. By the time we were done with the day we were goofing around and laughing like old friends.

Mack loves the outdoors. He likes to bike and rock climb. We chose the setting based on his hobbies and I think his photos turned out great!

Mack- Here is your sneak peek. I will have the rest of your gallery ready for viewing soon.

Kelly Sunbury {Palo Verde Class of 2010}

Kelly just finished her last day of high school. 2 days ago. Wow. I can barely remember the feeling… apprehensive to start adult life… yet SUPER EXCITED. She says that 2 months ago she thought “ugh, I still have 2 months to go” and then she blinked- and now she’s done. She’s got a few days of break and then she begins to start earning her degree in business.

Kelly, I think you would agree that our time together was a lot of fun! You are a super sweet girl and I wish you the best of luck. : ) Enjoy your sneak peek!

Rachael Bloch {Palo Verde Class of 2010}

Rachael…. doesn’t she just look like an artist who should attend Boston University in the fall? I certainly think so- and it’s a good possibility. She says she’s anxious to be moving on to the next stage of her life, but trying hard to appreciate the last few months of high school. Finding the balance between living in the moment and looking forward to the future can be tough for all of us, but most especially for seniors in high school!

I really enjoyed my time with you, Rachael. You are a super-sweetheart.

Enjoy your sneak peek!

Karina. Class of 2010.

Karina is super-cute. “I don’t know how to not smile”. That’s what she said. I LOVE that! If I asked her to be serious, I got EXTRA smiles. I had a great time hanging out with this adorable girl. Her favorite color is yellow- her favorite flower is the sunflower- and she plans to apply to Notre Dame- you know what that means… not only is she beautiful, she’s a smarty-pants, too!

Karina, hope you love, love, love your senior photos. Here are my favorites. <3
